    Féfé

That’s right! He’s back! One of our most loved (and most requested!) SFSC acts of the past (SFSC12, SFSC14), returns with a new show and a new album ready to unleash on the SFSC18 dancefloor. If you’re yet to catch the sunny, delightful sounds of French rapper and singer, you’ll be pleasantly surprised — Féfé spits out rhymes to the sounds of chic afro-influenced beats with style, joy and a whole lot of substance. Unforgettable.

    General Elektriks

Lovers of San Francisco’s Quannaum crew (Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, DJ Shadow and more), might already know of French-born Hervé Salters, aka General Elektriks. An incredibly talented keyboard player who has been part of that crew since the early 2000s, GE has worked with Blackalicious, co-produced Pigeon John and created many remixes for other artists, Femi Kuti and Mayer Hawthorne included. We are very excited to bring his soulful, vintage funk-meets-jazz groove to the So Frenchy stage this year, a perfect complement to a picnic blanket and a chilled glass of bubbles.

    Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains

Fronted by the enigmatic and poetic Fránçois Marry, Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains’ eclectic sound is crafted from a menagerie of influences — Afro-pop to French chanson, electronic guitar pop, topped with a dream-like flair, making this band very hard to define. As those who caught FATM’s euphoric set at SFSC15 know, this is one act you’ll want to see under the lush summer air! (Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains will play at SFSC Sydney & Melbourne Only.  Adelaide on Saturday January 13 as a part of the Adelaide French Festival more information).

    Juniore

Sexy, sweet, retro, modern and tres tres TRES cool. This hyper-stylish and Saint Laurent-approved band hailing from Paris describe themselves as ‘désespérément optimistes’ AKA desperate optimists… but we’d describe them as the lost connection between fashion, surf, psychedelic pop, spaghetti westerns and the nouvelle vague film movement. Be warned: you’ll either want to be them or be with them.

    L.E.J

Pronounced ‘Elijay’, this three piece have carved a cult-like following (and literally hundreds of millions of views on YouTube!) with their beautiful covers of pop songs, using only harmonies, percussion and a cello at the front and centre. Performing everything from Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ to ‘Panda’ by Desiigner, this trio somehow make the most overplayed pop hits sound like classical masterpieces. This time, however, they will arrive on our shores with a new album of original songs, making their set delightfully unpredictable.
