So Frenchy So Chic 2016 soundtrack

By Vincent Hanon 22 November 2015

So Frenchy So Chic 2016 album. Spread the love.

LIKE an early taste of summer, the new double CD compilation of ‘So Frenchy So Chic’ is here, with yet another great line up. Now is the chance to hear some of the musical acts who will appear at the January picnic parties in Melbourne and Sydney, such as Lou Doillon, who will be playing songs from her highly acclaimed folk rock record ‘Lay Low’. There is also the wonderful voice of the Franco-Moroccan singer Hindi Zahra, whose music is drenched in a hypnotic world blues universe.

Other highlights include the psychedelic garage pop sounds of The Limiñanas and Juniore, the funky attitude of Minuit and Hollysiz (the half-sister of actor Vincent Cassel), the unclassifiable jazzy universe of Bumcello and the raw electronic poetry of Aaron with a song called ‘Blouson Noir’ (don’t miss the beautiful video featuring John Malkovich).

There is much more to discover here, with a songs that will inspire you or make you want to dance. This is a chance for Australian listeners to discover an entirely new generation of French artists and bands such as Christine and the Queens, Marc Di Malta or Zoufris Maracas. Packed into an elegantly illustrated cover by Sarah Hankinson, this double album shows in thirty tracks the vitality and the diversity of the French pop scene today. More than ever, ‘So Frenchy So Chic 2016’ defines the idea of joie de vivre with, to quote Bumcello, a certain ‘je ne sais quality’ floating in the air.
